Rapper and singer Badshah is now facing a lawsuit from a media company over allegations of non-payment of agreed fees for his hit song Baawla.

According to the media company, all services for the production and promotion of the track were fulfilled, yet he has failed to settle payments owed for the project.

As reported by IANS, the case was filed in Karnal District Court under CNR Number HRKR010130502024 and Case Number ARB 47/2024. The complainants claimed that despite multiple payment reminders, Badshah provided “false assurances” and continuously postponed deadlines without making any actual payments.

The song Baawla, featuring Badshah and Amit Uchana, has garnered over 151 million views on YouTube since its release. The media company contends that their marketing efforts significantly boosted Badshah’s public image and brand, but they remain unpaid for their work.

This isn’t the first time he has faced legal trouble. Last year, he was summoned by Maharashtra Police’s Cyber Cell for promoting the online betting app FairPlay. His lawyer, Prashant Patil, clarified that Badshah was summoned as a witness, not an accused, in an investigation regarding copyright infringement. Patil added that Badshah had provided evidence to show his non-involvement in illegal activities and would continue to coBadshah operate with authorities if required.
