Jennifer Lopez showed her support for Kamala Harris at a Las Vegas event, criticizing remarks made at a Donald Trump rally as offensive and divisive.

Lopez expressed her disappointment over comments made by speakers at Trump’s Madison Square Garden event, which included racist jokes about Puerto Rico. She stated that these comments hurt not only Puerto Ricans but also “anyone of decent character” and “humanity” as a whole.

In her speech, Lopez, who is Puerto Rican, emphasized her pride in her identity, saying, “I am Puerto Rican, and yes, I was born here,” highlighting her connection to the U.S. She connected her experiences as an entertainer with Harris’s, noting that both have faced societal expectations and stereotypes. Lopez shared that many Americans, like her, simply want the chance to showcase their true potential.

Lopez criticized the divisive language used at Trump’s event, particularly a comment by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who called Puerto Rico an “island of garbage.” She urged the audience to make their voices heard in the upcoming election, stating, “Your voice and your vote matter.” The rally concluded with an emotional call for unity and understanding as tensions rise ahead of the election.
