Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”, released in 2013, became a generation-defining film. Recently, Kalki Koechlin, who portrayed the carefree ‘Aditi,’ revealed that there are no plans for a sequel. She explained that making one would be ‘hard’ and pointed out that most sequels tend to disappoint these days. She also admitted that she never gave much thought to Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Bunny, who some fans consider ‘selfish.’

In a candid conversation, Kalki Koechlin discussed her 2013 hit film “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”. When asked if she felt Bunny’s actions in the film came across as self-centered, Kalki responded, “I really didn’t spend a lot of time thinking about him. Why is he a selfish character?”

The host explained that Bunny prioritized his dreams of a carefree life and traveling the world while avoiding accountability for his actions. She also pointed out the film’s climax, where he casually proposes to Naina, played by Deepika Padukone, giving her the option to join his dream of traveling. Kalki laughed and responded, “That’s terrible, isn’t it?”

Talking about the complexities of Bunny and Naina’s relationship, Kalki playfully suggested, “Well, you’ll have to ask Ayan (director) about that. Maybe he just meant a honeymoon trip.”

When asked about the much-anticipated “YJHD” sequel, which has always intrigued fans, the “Gully Boy” actress responded, “I have heard no such rumors.”

Although some fans of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer have eagerly awaited “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2”, the actress reflected on the charm of Bunny, Naina, Aditi, and Avi’s friendship and said, “You can’t make another one.”
