Veteran actor Nana Patekar, known for his honest personality and impactful performances, recently opened up about his thoughts on retirement during a candid conversation with friend and former co-star Anil Kapoor. The two were discussing Patekar’s upcoming film Vanvaas, which is set to release on December 20, 2024.

When asked by Kapoor about his retirement plans, the 73-year-old actor dismissed the idea, questioning its relevance in his life. “How can I retire? There is so much happening in Agal-Bagal (around us), so much pollution, so much suffocation,” he said, highlighting how he draws purpose and satisfaction from his work amidst the chaos of modern life.

Patekar admitted he couldn’t imagine a life without acting, adding, “We would have died. We would have gone mad. We would have killed someone. This is what we have. We can remove whatever we have. What would have happened to us?” His comments reflected how integral work is to his sense of identity and mental well-being.

Turning the question back to Kapoor, the Rajneeti actor jokingly remarked, “It would be difficult for you to retire because people at your home won’t be able to tolerate you.” Kapoor, known for his fitness and work ethic at 67, humorously agreed, creating a lighthearted moment.

Produced, written, and directed by Anil Sharma, Vanvaas stars Nana Patekar and Utkarsh Sharma, promising a compelling narrative this December.
