Salman Khan’s comment on Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s marriage goes viral
Amid ongoing speculation surrounding Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan’s rumored divorce, an old interview of Salman Khan discussing his ex-girlfriend Aishwarya has resurfaced online, drawing significant attention.
The clip, from the popular chat show Aap Ki Adalat, features Salman Khan offering a candid yet gracious comment on Aishwarya’s marriage to Abhishek.
In the interview with host Rajat Sharma, Salman expressed his happiness for Aishwarya, saying, “I am very happy that she is married to Abhishek Bachchan. I think he is a great guy.” He went on to add, “This is the best thing any ex-boyfriend would want. You don’t want, once your friendship is over, you don’t want that person to be miserable without you. You want that person to be really really happy without you. So that, ek selfish reason bhi hogya (that is also a selfish reason), there’s no guilt on your head.”
Salman and Aishwarya were once Bollywood’s most talked-about couple before their highly publicized split in 2002. Addressing past allegations of physical and emotional abuse by Aishwarya, Salman remarked, “Your personal life is your personal life… Main agar isko defend karna chaahun, toh kahin jhutlaa doge… best isi main hee hai ki main chup bethu aur itne saal beet gye (If I try to defend this, it’ll seem like I’m denying things… it’s best to stay silent and let the years pass).”
Aishwarya married Abhishek in 2007 and they have a daughter, Aaradhya, while Salman remains one of Bollywood’s most eligible bachelors.
