Actor Usama Khan recently appeared on After Hours with Ushna Shah, where he opened up about his unconventional career path and shared amusing behind-the-scenes stories.

The Sunn Mere Dil actor revealed that he initially worked as a chartered accountant in his hometown of Peshawar. “There are no such opportunities where I come from, and even Karachi now has its limitations,” he said, explaining that acting wasn’t on his radar at first. Usama later moved to Lahore for further studies and to search for job opportunities, eventually landing his debut role when actress Angeline Malik gave him a shot.

The 32-year-old actor, who currently stars in the drama Ghair, shared how his role in the serial came about. He jokingly revealed, “I’d like everyone to know that I was cast in Ghair on Ushna’s recommendation.” Usama recounted how the two worked together on a telefilm, and after a tragedy delayed a male co-star’s involvement, Usna suggested him for the lead role.

Amidst the conversation, Usama also admitted to feeling an “irrational fear” whenever he looks at Ushna. “It’s not that there’s anything wrong with you,” he reassured her, also mentioning veteran actress Saba Hameed as another person who intimidates him. “I get intimidated when performing in front of her,” he confessed.

Reflecting on his career transition, Usama shared, “My parents don’t have a problem with any profession I pursue as long as I’m earning money through it,” highlighting their support for his journey into acting.
