Speaking about the protective nature of parenting, Varun said, “For the mother it is a different experience, I feel she becomes a tigress, that moment only something happens.”

He then added, “But, as a man, I’d say, that when we become parents, for some reason, you feel a protection towards your daughter. I am sure you feel for sons also but towards the daughter… If anyone causes even so much (little) harm to her I’d kill them. I am dead serious when I say that. Literally, I’d kill them.”

Dhawan’s candid admission offers a glimpse into the protective instincts that often arise in fathers. He further revealed how fatherhood has deepened his understanding of his own father: “I started understanding my father a little better – his insecurities, his hyper behaviour, his anxiety about ‘Be home on time’.”

Varun Dhawan and his wife Natasha Dalal welcomed their daughter Lara Dhawan on June 3, 2023. The couple tied the knot in January 2021.
