Ines de Ramon, Brad Pitt’s girlfriend, reportedly encouraged him to settle his nearly decade-long divorce battle with Angelina Jolie, according to a new report.

“He [Pitt] was influenced by Ines to finally settle,” a source told on Tuesday, December 31. “Ines wants to have a life together — possibly with children in the future — without the albatross that was the eight-year War of the Roses.”

The 31-year-old jewelry designer reportedly told the actor she believes life would be more enjoyable once he settles his divorce case with Jolie.

Jolie filed for divorce on September 19, 2016, sparking a bitter custody battle with Pitt over their children and other issues. Reports suggest she ended their relationship, which included 10 years of dating and two years of marriage, due to an alleged abuse incident on a private plane in 2016 witnessed by their children. Authorities investigated Jolie’s accusations but did not charge Pitt, and she chose not to press charges either.

The pair reportedly signed the divorce papers on Monday, December 30, although the court had declared them legally single in 2019. Their contentious legal battle over the French winery, Chateau Miraval, will continue.

A second source said that Ines positively influences Pitt, giving him a good perspective on things. “It’s sad how the whole thing has played out, but at least this is progress in the right direction,” the tipster expressed.

The insider revealed that Pitt and Jolie agreed on signing the divorce settlement, recognizing it was time to move on.

Pitt, 60, and Ramon first sparked dating rumors in November 2022 and made their red carpet-debut nearly two years later at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.

A source previously said that Pitt feels very grateful to have a strong woman like his girlfriend by his side. She reportedly supports him and remains unfazed by the public attention, as she was previously married to TVD star Paul Wesley.

Before Jolie, Pitt was married to “Friends” star Jennifer Aniston.
