Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia has landed in controversy following his appearance on India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina. His inappropriate remarks during the show’s latest episode sparked severe backlash, leading to calls for strict action.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has condemned the remarks and released a statement demanding an “immediate ban” on India’s Got Latent to prevent further dissemination of “damaging content.” Taking to X, AICWA stated, “The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) vehemently condemns the reprehensible and offensive remarks made on the YouTube show ‘India’s Got Latent.’”

The statement further added, “Such disgraceful content is utterly unacceptable and poses a significant threat to the moral fabric of our society.” AICWA called upon actors, filmmakers, and technicians to cut ties with the show’s creators, asserting, “These individuals will receive no support from the Indian film industry.”

Among its demands, AICWA urged for an “immediate and absolute ban” on the show, legal action against its creators, and stricter regulations on digital content.

Following the backlash, Ranveer issued a public apology, stating, “I shouldn’t have said what I did… My comment was not just inappropriate—it wasn’t even funny. I’m sorry.”
