The big crowd puller, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, produced by Salman Khan, faced a lot of criticism by spectators and cybercitizens for the comedy segment hosted by comedian Kiku Sharda and Krushna Abhishek.

In their segment, they mocked a known news anchor whose channel is consistently covering the death of the Bollywood star, Sushant Singh Rajput, and the whole drug scandal in Bollywood.

The show runs on Sony TV on weekends despite the COVID-19 restrictions amongst the few other shows that air such as ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and ‘Bigg Boss’. Movie director Anubhav Sinha and Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee made a guest appearance on Kapil Sharma’s show to promote their new music video ‘Bambai Main Ka Ba’.

The comedy segment of the show went viral as the news anchor outshouted Salman Khan, provoking him to speak about the rumored drug connections within the industry and about his “Mujhe Drugs Do” declaim.

The audience and fans of Sushant Singh weren’t too happy with the content of the segment and started the trend #BoycottKapilSharmaShow on Twitter. One of them said it is the, ‘cheapest trick to mock death’. Salman Khan, the producer of the show, has been gravely denounced for the presumed favoritism and nepotism in Bollywood.
