Shahid Kapoor’s next movie ‘Jersey’ will hit theatres on Diwali this year, the actor has confirmed.

Kapoor has confirmed that the sports drama will be released on November 5 this year.

‘Jersey’ features a talented but failed cricketer, who decides to return to cricket in his late 30s to represent India and fulfill his son’s desire for a jersey.

Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, Jersey stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. Music has been set by Sachet and Parmpara.

Shahid Kapoor informed his fans about the release. He shared a poster of the film along with the caption, “JERSEY releasing in theatres this DIWALI 5th November 2021. The triumph of the human spirit. A journey I am so very proud of. This one for the TEAM ….”

Producer Aman Gill has explained why the movie is being released on Diwali, “Diwali is the biggest family festival of the year, and is the perfect time to bring Jersey, a family sports drama to audiences, a time when all families can come together to celebrate this journey.”
