Akshay Kumar, along with Ranveer Singh and Ajay Devgn, has asked moviegoers to return to the theatres. This Diwali, their film Sooryavanshi will be released in theatres.

Akshay posted a video message on social media with the caption, “Interval hua khatam (the interval is over), now it’s showtime! #Sooryavanshi releasing this Diwali, 5th November at a cinema near you. Come celebrate with us. #BackToCinemas.”

The video shows the three performers giving a Hindi message to their followers in an empty cinema theatre. According to Akshay, “Friends, do you remember this place? These four walls have seen many of your moods.”

Ranveer continues, “They remember your laughter, your tears, your anger.” Akshay finishes his statement by adding, “But no one had ever thought that just like our lives, our films will also have an interval.”

Soon after, Ajay enters and says, “But there’s a saying – there is always a morning after a dark night.”

Akshay announces, changing the tone from dismal to excited, “So we are back.” Ranveer adds, “Its enough of loneliness and silence. Now once again this theatre will come alive with the echo of claps because this Diwali ‘aa rahi hai police (the police is coming).”

Sooryavanshi star Katrina Kaif and director Rohit Shetty were seen out and about for the film’s promotion on Thursday.

The film, which was supposed to be released on March 24, 2020, was repeatedly postponed owing to the coronavirus pandemic, which caused theatres across the country to close.
