The trailer for Shahid Kapoor’s next film Jersey has been released. The cricket-themed film is a replica of the same-named Telugu National Award-winning film.

Shahid Kapoor portrays a former cricket player who wants to return to the game in order to encourage his son, while Mrunal Thakur plays his wife in the film. The Hindi version was directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also directed the original.

A jobless former cricketer tries to fulfill his son’s desire of purchasing a jersey in the trailer. He attempts to persuade his wife to take out a loan, but she refuses. He then goes door to door, attempting to make arrangements for money but ultimately attempting to steal money from his wife’s wallet.

In the midst of it all, he is offered the position of assistant coach for a cricket team, but he declines. The trailer then shows glimpses of his cricket career and the events that led to his retirement.
