Shiv Subramanian, a veteran actor and award-winning scriptwriter, died on Sunday night. ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar,’ ‘Nail Polish,’ ‘2 States,’ ‘Hichki,’ ‘Rocky Handsome,’ ‘Stanley Ka Dabba,’ and more Hindi films and web series featured him.

The funeral will be held today morning in Mumbai, according to filmmaker Hansal Mehta, who shared the sad news on social media.

Fans rushed to the comment section when Mehta uploaded the post, paying tribute to the actor. Nikkhil Advani, a director, responded with a broken heart emoji in response to his sudden death. “It’s bad news. The melancholy continues. He was a nice man with a lot of talent. He left us far too soon. “#RIP #respect,” Ranvir Shorey tweeted.
Shiv Subrahmanyam is recognised for penning screenplays for films such as Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Parinda’ in 1989, Leena Yadav’s ‘Teen Patti’ in 2010, and Sudhir Mishra’s ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ in 2005.
