According to Malaika Arora, Arbaaz Khan’s family does not prioritise her, but they do so out of concern for their kid Arhaan. When she discussed it, it was during a conversation she had with filmmaker Karan Johar for her new programme Moving In with Malaika.

Earlier this year, Malaika had a near-fatal accident, and in one of the most recent episodes of her digital debut programme, she talked about the entire Khan family coming to support her. Karan said, “I remember what was interesting which I took back home with me. After your accident the whole family showed up. I mean they were there. Some roots are forever.”

Arora then said, “I may not be their number one person on their list but they do it because Arhaan is there. That’s the right thing to do.”

On April 2 of this year, Malaika was involved in a car accident in Khopoli, Maharashtra. She was making her way to Mumbai from Pune. She was hospitalised after suffering injuries.

Malaika and Arbaaz were married for almost 20 years after getting married in 1998. They made their separation public in March 2016, and their divorce was finalised in May 2017. Their kid Arhaan is co-parented by them. While Arbaaz was rumoured to be dating Giorgia Andriani, Malaika is currently dating actor Arjun Kapoor.

In a previous episode of her show, Malaika talked about her car collision. She told Farah Khan, “When I was wheeled out one of the first faces that I saw was actually Arbaaz, at that moment. And he kept asking me, ‘Can you see? How many numbers? How many fingers?’ And I was like ‘why is he doing this?’ It was very strange.”

She added, “For a second, I was like okay ‘have I gone back in time?’ Something that really sticks out is in difficult times, you know that irrespective whatever it may be, past, present, future, jo bhi ho (whatever happened), the way he was there.”
