On Instagram, Neil Nitin Mukesh posted selfies and wrote that 2022 was the year he finally realised the “value of health, family, love, and relationships.” The actor told out about being “mocked” by some and that some people “question his willpower” when Neil acquired weight for a job. He also shared a glimpse of his weight loss process. Neil added that he did not anticipate how “difficult and challenging” it would be for him to shed all the weight he had put on. He expressed his gratitude to his family for helping him through “this difficult transformation.”

The actor posted a series of before and after pictures of himself on Instagram on Saturday, along with the following caption: “As I look back at the year 2022, I am nothing but grateful. I’m grateful to my family, to my dear friends and above all to the Almighty, to encourage me and give me the strength and power to go through this difficult transformation. As an actor we mould ourselves in various characters and take up challenges beyond our imagination. When I gained weight for a role of mine, little did I know that it would be so difficult and challenging to lose it all again. But I guess that is exactly what I needed, a challenge!!”

Neil continued to write about how others reacted to his weight increase and loss: “2022 has been the year of me understanding the importance of health, family, love and relationships. Some stood by me through this journey, some mocked me for being socially disconnected, some appreciated my efforts while some questioned my willpower.”

For his family specifically, the actor had a message. Neil is the grandson of vocalist Mukesh and the son of musician Nitin Mukesh. He kept writing in his caption, “I thank my father, my mother, my beloved wife (Rukmini Sahay), my brother and my darling daughter (Nurvi Neil Mukesh) for patiently dealing with me and my mood swings. I love you all the most. More importantly I thank you , my audience, my fans, for whom I work tirelessly. You have stood by me all these years and it’s your love that has given me the strength to forge ahead. This is for you!! Welcome 2023.”

According to rumours, Neil will next appear alongside Dileep and Tamannaah in an upcoming Malayalam movie directed by Arun Gopy. Neil had previously worked in the south Indian film business, appearing in the Telugu film Saaho, which starred Prabhas, and the Tamil film Kaththi, which starred Vijay. According to reports, Tamannaah and Neil will make their Mollywood debuts in the upcoming Arun Gopy movie Bandra.
