The renowned dancing DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and previous contestant on So You Think You Can Dance, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, has received appreciation from actor Priyanka Chopra. He left behind his wife and three children when he passed away at the age of 40.
On Friday, Priyanka shared a picture of Stephen with the caption, “Stephen.” “Still processing this. You gave so much to the world.” She also added, “You just never know what someone is going through. Rest in peace and love tWitch. You truly were a light. My condolences to @allisonholker and the children (red heart emoji).”
Earlier, in a statement, his wife Allison Holker Boss said: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to share my husband Stephen has left us. Stephen lit up every room he stepped into. He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him. He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
Ellen DeGeneres posted a message and a picture of the two sharing a hug backstage on Twitter. “I’m heartbroken. tWitch was pure love and light. He was my family, and I loved him with all my heart. I will miss him. Please send your love and support to Allison and his beautiful children – Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia,” she wrote.
Stephen began working on Ellen’s programme in 2014, and in 2020 he was given the opportunity to advance to co-executive producer. Additionally, the dancer-DJ made appearances in the movies Magic Mike XXL and Step Up: All In. Additionally, he appeared in this year’s Hip Hop Nutcracker from Disney.
He has also finished as a runner-up on So You Think You Can Dance and went on to judge season 17. The native of Alabama pursued dance performance studies at Chapman University and Southern Union State Community College. Because he admired great dancers like Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire, his love of dancing pervaded every part of his life.
On social media, celebrities including Kerry Washington and Carrie Ann Inaba shared posts lamenting his passing. Kerry shared a photo on Instagram, “Twitch brought joy and love to people all over the world through music and through dance. My heart is heavy today for his family and all of those who knew and loved him.”
