Al Roker and Deborah Roberts dance to “Cuff It” to celebrate Beyoncé’s history for Grammy win
The Beyhive includes Deborah Roberts and Al Roker! The 68-year-old weatherman for the Today program and his 62-year-old journalist wife celebrated Beyoncé’s unforgettable Grammy Awards performance on Sunday night with a party of their own.
“Congratulations to @beyonce for winning her first Grammy of the evening, tying her for the most Grammys ever. We regret having to pay tribute, “On Instagram, Roker posted.
The adorable duo can be seen dancing to Queen Bey’s “Cuff It” in the video that goes along with his caption. The 41-year-old singer won best R&B song for the song.
Roker comically took a slow-spin in his office chair and joined in with some exuberant arm dancing as Roberts danced and clapped her hands to the song.
The night got even better for the singer when she went on to become the all-time winningest Grammy artist, winning the best dance/electronic music album for Renaissance, as the husband and wife were ostensibly celebrating the singer’s victory.
The last few months have been rather similar for Roker. Early in January, the adored TV personality made a triumphant comeback to the morning program following a two-month sabbatical brought on by difficulties with blood clots in his leg and lungs.
What began as a few stomach aches for Roker turned into a terrifying array of medical problems? He was initially admitted to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, discharged a few weeks later, and then admitted again after Thanksgiving.
He missed the traditional Christmas Tree Lighting at Rockefeller Center and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time in 27 years due to health difficulties. The TV celebrity announced on Instagram on December 8 that he had left the hospital once more.
Roker opened out about his condition when he returned to the program, saying that he endured a difficult, seven-hour operation to “fix a bunch of inside problems.”
When Roker first visited doctors in early November to address a few stomach aches, he had no idea his condition was so serious.
“Al was a very, very, very sick man, most people didn’t know that, “explained Roberts, 62, who appeared alongside her husband for his first day back. “Two doctors led this brilliant team — it was a team — who had to figure out what was happening. He was a medical mystery for a couple of weeks. And it was the most tumultuous, frightening journey we have been on.”
Last month, as Roker settled back into his routine, he was conscious of the love, especially from his wife of 27 years.
In an interview with news, Roker said to his wife, “Without you, I wouldn’t be here. ”There is no denying that. However, here we are.” You may live to repent it, he joked in typical Roker way.
