Pathaan, as we have always stated, is more than just a movie; it is an emotion that has moved many people. Shah Rukh Khan has made his way back to the big screen after over 4 years, and for his admirers, it is cause for jubilation. Pathaan, however, has been praised by a number of Bollywood celebs in addition to shattering box office records. Fans are clearly enjoying watching the SRK, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham movie as seen by the numerous images and videos from theatres in several states that have gone viral. In a recent exclusive interview, the film’s director, Siddharth Anand, talked about smashing box office records and beating the boycott band.

Siddharth Anand discussed the criticism Pathaan received prior to its release as well as the controversies it sparked during the conversation. How does he perceive the element that was going on before the release and the joy that the Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham movie caused after the release, when questioned, given the huge success of the film post its release? Director’s response was,”So in a way I think we have been able to break that boycott mould. Everyone is scared ki yaar ye log boycott bolenge to log aayenge nahi dekhne ke liye. So wo dar to rehta hai. You know social media is something which is very powerful. People read a lot, people follow it a lot and believe it. So Pathaan has broken that myth. Achi picture banaoge to sab toot toot ke aayenge. Ek video dekha tha maine ki log truck se nikal rahe the jane ke liye. So you know ek sapna hota hai ek director ka ki meri picture truck bhar ke log aayenge dekhne ke liye. To humara sapna pura ho gaya. Video dekh ke bahut acha soya.”

We are all aware that Pathaan has been making history and shattering box office records every day. Siddharth Anand responded, “It’s something that hasn’t really sunk in. But, every morning you wake up and see another record you have smashed and I just hope that I am still not sleeping. I pinch myself that it’s not a dream.”

On its ninth box office day, Pathaan added Rs. 15 crore nett Hindi to its tally, with an additional Rs. 60 lakh coming from the film’s successful dubbed versions. With this, the Hindi nett total rises to Rs. 350.50 crore, and the India nett total for all versions rises to Rs. 363.60 crore. The film has an impressive $435 million plus gross in India, and as it nears its conclusion, it is entirely possible that this figure will surpass the $600 million mark. With this figure, the movie will trail only Baahubali 2 in terms of Indian box office revenue. It won’t come as a surprise to India nett if Pathaan outperforms Baahubali 2’s Hindi adaptation.
