One of the final songs that the late singer KK recorded is the tune Mon Re from the upcoming movie Lost. The talented vocalist passed away from a heart arrest on May 31, 2022, while taking the stage at a college event in Kolkata. The newest Lost song begins with a homage to KK and features footage from the movie intercut with the vocalist performing the song.

“We miss you… KK,” reads the opening message of the video. Shantanu Moitra composed Mon Re, which Swanand Kirkire wrote. Yami Gautam plays a reporter in the Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury-directed movie opposite actors Pankaj Kapur, Rahul Khanna, Neil Bhoopalam, Pia Bajpiee, and Tushar Pandey.

Tushar’s character, Ishan, a young theatre activist, is the main character of Lost. The song provides brief glimpses of Ishan’s interactions with Pia’s character before to his disappearance. Yami’s persona investigates the case in an effort to get information.

Fans responded to the song in the YouTube comments section with strong emotions. “You will always be in our hearts KK bro.” one person said. “I will never forget his magical voice n damn miss it.” said another admirer. “Legends never die,” a third person commented.

Shantanu also posted a behind-the-scenes video of KK’s session with them for the movie the previous week. He noted: “Sharing with all KK fans, moments of joy in the studio while working on LOST sound track . He loved to whistle.”  On his post, actor Dia Mirza used red heart emojis. Despite only one Instagram user having written, “What a blast of fresh air he was, especially for us, the listeners and the lovers! May you rest in peace!”

The international premiere of Lost, authored by Shyamal Sengupta and Ritesh Shah, took place at the Chicago South Asian Film Festival on September 22, 2022. On February 16, Lost will make its Zee5 debut. The drama is “an ode to many journalists who go to great lengths in search of the truth while also walking that fine line which threads the very integrity of media & humanity.” according to Yami, who shared this earlier this month with the debut of the teaser.

The film “The movie represents a higher quest and a search for lost values of empathy while raising the right questions. Whoever has watched the film so far, had a very positive and overwhelming response to it, so I am eagerly waiting for the release now, to see how the audiences enjoy the film.”
