On the four-part Netflix documentary series The Romantics, which debuted on February 14 and honours the great director Yash Chopra and his production company Yash Raj Films, the late Rishi Kapoor made a rare cameo (YRF).

In keeping with the late actor’s cheeky humour and sassy remarks, Neetu Kapoor joins him on the show. He was seen offering some amusing responses regarding the condition of Bollywood and filmmaking.

Numerous Bollywood stars, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Rani Mukherji, Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, and Aamir Khan, are featured in the docuseries.

They all discuss how they first came across Yash Chopra’s films and what it meant to them as children to love his cinema.

We are the largest filmmaking country in the world… The way the West perceives Indian cinema, it’s not about sadhus (monks), it’s not about snake charmers…not about elephants, and cows running. We have come a long way.” “After sex, cinema is the only best form of entertainment in the world. For Indians at least.” Neetu Kapoor seems slightly embarrassed by the late actor’s deadpan response.

In April 2020, Rishi passed away at the age of 67 following a two-year struggle with leukaemia. At Mumbai’s Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital, he passed away.

Between 1973 and 2000, the actor went on to star as the romantic lead in 92 movies. In 2008, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. In 12 movies, he costarred with Neetu Kapoor, née Singh, who would become his future wife. Daughter Riddhima and son Ranbir, who is also a well-known actor, are the couple’s two children.
