The highly awaited second season of the popular series The Rocket Boys will air in March. Yesterday, the series’ makers released the first teaser.

Jim Sarbh, an actor, posted the trailer to Instagram with the caption, “Witness the incredible journey of India’s greatest scientists shaping a new era where no one dared to challenge their country’s sovereignty.”

 

 

The tension as Indian scientists and policymakers attempt to test the nuclear bomb against ongoing American surveillance and spying is masterfully captured in the one-minute, 16-second teaser. In Pokhran, Rajasthan, India conducted its first successful nuclear bomb test, known as Operation Smiling Buddha.

The teaser also shows Dr. Homi Bhabha’s (Jim Sarbh) determination to carry out his plans, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai’s (Ishwak Singh), and Drs. APJ Abdul Kalam, Raja Ramanna, and Homi Sethna’s (Dr. Jim Sarbh) execution of their strategies following consultation with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi (Charu Shankar).

 

 

Rocket Boys is written and directed by Abhay Pannu. Under the banners of Roy Kapur Films and Emmay Entertainment, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Monisha Advani, and Madhu Bhojwani are co-producers of the show. A number of actors, including Jim Sarbh, Ishwak Singh, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Regina Cassandra, Rajat Kapur, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Namit Das, Saba Azad, and Charu Shankar, are featured in it.
