Shehzada which debuted on February 17, had weaker opening weekends than anticipated. The Telugu hit Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which starred Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, was remade in Hindi for this movie (2020).

Shehzada made 6 crore on its opening day, but the weekend box office never really took off after that. The producers also offered a buy one, get one free ticket promotion, but it was unsuccessful. Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Ronit Roy, and Rajpal Yadav had guest appearances in the comedy-drama.

Shehzada barely brought in nett earnings of 26.50 crore, according to the trade website Box Office India, during its first week. During the weekend, it earned $20.

The family film, which Rohit Dhawan directed, struggled during the workweek. Also, a lot of people had already seen the Hindi-dubbed version of the movie, which is available to view for free on YouTube, as well as Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantamania, Shehzada‘s Hollywood rival, has similarly performed poorly as a Marvel movie. Box Office India reports that the third movie had a significant decline on Monday and made 32 crore nett in its first week.

While the superhero movie’s advance ticket sales were strong on opening day and over the weekend, they did not continue into the following week.

The release of Shehzada was likewise put off so that Pathaan could enjoy a longer run in theatres. Kartik, the principal actor, discussed the argument for delaying the release of the movie by one week after Valentine’s Day in an interview with RJ Siddharth Kannan. He stated: “The decision was mostly of the producers and directors. Main fan hoon Shah Rukh [Khan] sir ka waese bhi toh mujhe toh accha hi laga ki jab yeh shift karne ka decision horaha tha. (I am a fan of Shah Rukh sir so I felt good when the decision to shift was taken ). We went ahead with it.”
