On Monday, friends and associates of the late actor-filmmaker Satish Kaushik assembled at his Mumbai home for a prayer gathering that his family had organized. Anupam Kher, a close friend of Satish‘s, stood at the family’s side as they met with mourners for the late actor.

The heart attack that killed Satish on March 9 in Delhi. On the same day that his body was returned to Bombay, his final rites were carried out at the Versova crematorium.

The enormous group of mourners that showed up at Satish’s house included the producer’s Boney Kapoor, Ramesh Taurani, and Ashoke Pandit, as well as the directors David Dhawan, Abbas Mastan, and Vivek Agnihotri, the comic Sunil Pal, the cinematographer Baba Azmi, and the lyricist Javed Akhtar.

Anupam Kher remained with Satish’s family, standing close to Shahi Kaushik, Satish’s wife, and Vanshika Kaushik, their 10-year-old daughter. His family members, who were waiting outside in the building enclosure to speak with those who had come, were also shown respect by the grieving.

When the Prime Minister of the country gives condolences on the departure of a loved one, then one gets the strength to face that sorrow. The last time we saw Satish was in the Farhad Samji-produced Disney+ Hotstar series Pop Kaun. He finished playing the politician Jagjivan Ram in Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency just before he passed away.

He recently wrapped up filming for his upcoming film, Kaagaz 2, in which he serves as director and co-stars with Anupam, Darshan Kumaar, Smriti Kalra, Anang Desai, and Neena Gupta.
