Did you know that Miss India 1984 was won by the actor Juhi Chawla? barely 18 years old. She travelled to represent India at Miss Universe later that same year. Online users have discovered an old video of Juhi from the Miss Universe competition. Juhi from the National Costume round, which she won, is featured in it.

The opening scene of the video features a younger-looking Juhi wearing a blue outfit. She is on stage alongside other competitors from around the world wearing a “India” sash. As others are called during the show’s introduction round, she smiles and applauds.

The National Costume round of the pageant is skipped over in the film. Juhi adorned the circle in a pink lehenga with embroidery. She accessorised it with customary gold jewellery and a bun for her hair. “Namaste. I am Juhi Chawla from Bombay, India.”she says as she introduces herself. Juhi Chawla from India’s Bombay is who I am. Juhi won the National Costume round even though she didn’t win Miss Universe for the year.

“She is so beautiful” a fan commented on the old video in response to it. ” Still the same”, a second person chimed in. Another person added, “Still she is very successful eventually beauty pageants winners go to Bollywood and she was in top and more successful than Lara and Sushmita despite being Miss Universe. It’s about luck as well.”  Some even made the comparison to Kiara Advani.

Juhi entered the acting world in 1986, two years after she was named Miss India, with her debut film Sultanat. But, she didn’t become well-known until she played the role of Aamir Khan’s love interest in the 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. Bol Radha Bol, Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Yes Boss, Ishq, Darr, and Jhankaar Beats, among other popular movies, helped Juhi Chawla rule the 1980s and 1990s.

Juhi was last spotted in the film Sharmaji Namkeen, which also served as Rishi Kapoor’s last performance. Paresh Rawal, Suhail Nayyar, and Isha Talwar also starred in the movie. The movie, which was directed by Hitesh Bhatia, finally came out on March 31, 2022, after considerable waiting.
