In addition to her own children, Sharmila Tagore has observed how her grandchildren are now receiving media attention and public attention as a result of being the offspring of performers and superstars. When his son Saif was a baby, the attention he received was “annoying” to him, but for his children Taimur and Jeh, it has grown to be much more significant.

The sons of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are the focus of a lot of paparazzi and fans’ attention. Sharmila is aware that it is yet unclear how it will impact them in the long run. She discussed Saif’s childhood struggles and how they differ from Taimur and Jeh’s circumstances in a recent interview.

Sharmila said, “Yes of course. I mean I even then, people would pinch Saif’s cheeks and ask ‘bade hoke kya banoge beta? Cricketer banoge ya actor banoge (What will you be when you grow up? Cricketer or actor)?’ He would say hockey star. He used to get really annoyed. But this is different. But I have learnt from Sara (Ali Khan, granddaughter) that you need to accept and not fight it because that’s the reality. It’s ok.”

“They will take it in their stride. But they feel the tension of the media, they feel very important and special. And how that will pan out we don’t know. It’s not their achievement, it’s their parents’. So who knows,” she added.

In 1968, Sharmila wed cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Son Saif Ali Khan and daughters Saba and Soha Ali Khan were their three children. Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan were the children of Saif’s first marriage to Amrita Singh. After that, he wed Kareena Kapoor, with whom he had sons Taimur and Jehangir. Inaaya Naumi Kemmu is the daughter of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu. Saba is single.

Sharmila and Manoj Bajpayee will soon be spotted in Gulmohar. Sharmila will make her OTT debut with this movie, which will air on Disney+ Hotstar. In the family drama starring Simran and Suraj Sharma, she plays Manoj’s mother.
