Nishabd, a 2007 Bollywood film starring Shraddha Arya, has been in theatres for 16 years as of today (March 2). Shraddha played Ritu, the daughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Revathi, in the movie. Ritu’s companion Jia was portrayed by the late actress Jiah Khan.

The Kundali Bhagya actress released a video and penned a sweet letter expressing her gratitude for being a part of this movie. She also praised Big B for inspiring and encouraging her during the movie. “16 Years Of #NISHABD, still don’t believe that In this short lifetime, I got the luck & opportunity to work next to the Legendary Mr. @amitabhbachchan as his daughter in the movie Nishabd.. who did not just play the role of my father but motivated and supported me like one too,” she wrote. Never in my life should I complain about anything. I’ve been incredibly lucky. I will be eternally thankful to #RamGopalVerma for casting me in the role and to Revathi ma’am and Jiya for being such wonderful and considerate co-stars.

A 60-year-old guy falling in love with an 18-year-old girl was a contentious plot point in the movie at the time, which led to a range of reactions.

Shraddha’s debut Bollywood movie was Nishabd. She made her acting debut in the 2006 Tamil film Kalvanin Kadhali after taking part in the reality TV program Cinestar Ki Khoj in 2004.

In Kundali Bhagya, Shraddha is now paired with Shakti Arora. The program is about to advance, making room for additional actors.
