Mission: Impossible 7 has refused to compensate Paramount for all losses incurred as a result of the covid-19 insurance litigation.

According to a report by Yahoo Entertainment, studio insurance will not cover damages incurred as a result of pandemic-imposed lockdowns.

As ordered by the “civil authority,” Mission: Impossible 7 will only pay $1 million in covid-19 losses, according to the studio’s insurance, Chubb.

For those unfamiliar with the legal proceedings, the filming of Mission: Impossible 7 has been postponed seven times since it was first halted in February 2020 and June 2021.

A cast insurance policy with a $100 million coverage limit was in place at Paramount.

Its purpose was to cover any covid-19-related losses in the event that major cast members such as Tom Cruise or director Christopher McQuarrie were unable to continue due to illness, death, or kidnapping.

The pandemic shutdowns, according to Paramount, should have triggered the provision; however, it is all sanctioned under the civil authority policy, which has a $1 million restriction instead.
