Angelina Jolie’s new book “Know Your Rights and Claim Them” will be released in the United Kingdom on Thursday and will be available for pre-order in other countries, with the goal of global publication.

With a book she co-wrote with Amnesty International, the Hollywood star says she hopes to equip children all over the world with the tools they need to “fight back” for their rights.

The book, co-written with human rights lawyer Geraldine Van Bueren, one of the original drafters of the 1989 United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, aims to equip children with the knowledge to safely challenge injustices.

Jolie, the UNHCR’s special envoy, expressed hope that the book would also remind governments of their commitment to the global treaty enshrining children’s civil, social, political, and economic rights.
