Kevin Feige and other executives are in discussions with Taron Egerton about playing the character of Wolverine. Which was previously portrayed by Hugh Jackman on screen.
Egerton previously acted alongside Jackman in the 2016 film “Eddie the Eagle” and in the 2017 film “Logan” as a member of the X-Men.

The “Rocketman” actor expressed his intention to take up Jackman’s role as the protagonist of both the X-Men and Avengers franchises.

He said, “I don’t think it would be wrong to say that. I’d be excited but I’d be apprehensive as well because Hugh is so associated with the role that I’d wonder if it’d be very difficult for someone else to do it. But hopefully, if it does come around, they’ll give me a shot.”

The British actor will next be seen in “Black Bird,” which will premiere on July 8. In the six-episode series, which Dennis Lehane adapted from James Keene’s book of his time in prison. He plays a drug dealer who is incarcerated.
If Egerton’s character can persuade his fellow prisoner to confess to major offences, he may be offered a mitigated sentence.
