Adele’s decision to put off her much-anticipated Las Vegas residency wasn’t easy, but she knew it was the right thing to do at the time.

Adele told for the cover of its September issue how hard it was to tell fans that the residency, which was supposed to start last January at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, would be put off.

“There was just no soul in it,” the 34-year-old “Hello” singer said. “The stage wasn’t set up right. It was very far away from me and my band, and it didn’t feel close. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in an environment that was so controlled.”

Adele thought this was “by far” the worst time in her career, but she is proud of herself for figuring out that it wasn’t right.

“The first two or three months were very, very hard. I felt bad about myself, “the 30 singer-songwriter said. “But because it was a very brave thing to do, it made me feel better about myself. I don’t think many people would have done what I did. I’m very proud of myself for sticking to my artistic needs.”

Now, months after she said the show would be put off, she’s giving fans hints about what to expect from her new show, which starts in November.

“I want to tell the story of my career from the beginning until now. I’m not going to say too much, but the show gets better. It gets better, “she told me. “It’s all about the music, and it brings back a lot of memories. It’s going to be very pretty.”Adele is an English singer and songwriter.
