David Beckham, a former English football player, was sighted in London waiting in line with thousands of other mourners to view Queen Elizabeth laying in state at Westminster Hall.

In order to show his respect for the late king, the 47-year-old Manchester United player joined the crowd. There were hours-long waits anticipated since the line had grown too lengthy for more people to join.

Behind the camera, Beckham was snapped. At two in the morning, he was observed smiling and donning a black hat, according to the Mirror.

As Beckham stood in line to pay his respects, other line members captured pictures and videos of him, which quickly went viral on social media.

Beckham was “only a few lines behind us in the snake,” according to a Twitter user. The queue is currently full of individuals trying to take pictures of David Beckham while neglecting to actually move forward, another user tweeted.

One online user commented, “It’s nearly made me forget that we’ve been in The Queue for almost TWELVE HOURS.”
