A totally unexpected reason once led to Joy Behar’s termination from “Good Morning America.” On Friday’s edition of “View,” the seasoned co-host admitted that her behavior as a receptionist contributed to her termination from the ABC sister program.

The 80-year-old Behar suddenly said, “First of all, I’d like to say that when I was fired from ‘Good Morning America’ years ago,” startling the audience member Kumail Nanjiani.

“I was the worst receptionist they’ve ever had!” she insisted, prompting co-host Sara Haines to vouch for the “true story.”

“So I was fired, and they took me to Chippendales as my goodbye present,” Behar went on, explaining to Nanjiani — who stars in the Hulu miniseries, “Welcome to Chippendales” — that she participated in all that the male striptease show has to offer, including “put[ting] the money in the guys’, you know, thingy.”

“It’s fabulous!” she gushed, a sentiment with which co-host Sunny Hostin agreed and added, “Chippendales is a fun place!”

Nanjiani laughed when Behar continued, “Anyway, so I’m familiar with Chippendales.

“I was relieved to be let go. For some reason, I was basically done with the show by that point. I can’t even recall why,” she admitted to Time in June.
