The touching remembrance comes after the pair got back together for the family’s yearly Christmas portrait. After revealing the holiday card, Spelling said she was happy to see the entire family in it, including McDermott after he was conspicuously absent in 2021.

“We’re ALL together ❤️,” she stressed in the caption.

Liam Aaron, 15, Stella Doreen, 14, Hattie Margaret, 10, Finn Davey, 10, and 5-year-old Beau Dean are the couple’s five children; nevertheless, they have maintained a distant relationship while McDermott is filming the Canadian television serial Pretty Hard Cases. Jack, McDermott’s other son, is 24 years old.

Due to their separation over New Year’s and Spelling’s admission that they were sleeping in different rooms, the couple has been the subject of several rumors of marital problems for years.

Additionally, a source told PEOPLE in late 2021 that spelling continued to struggle with serious trust issues brought on by McDermott’s earlier infidelity in the relationship.

“Tori still has major trust issues. Part of their relationship was never fully repaired after he was unfaithful,” the source said. “They’ve been living separate lives. They will still have family meals and occasional outings, but it’s for the kids.”

The couple was initially observed dating once more while out together in September. They were in Calabasas, California, where they had a rare sighting and spent the day eating pizza.
