Cassidy Gifford concluded the joyful news by saying, “A whole lot extra to be praising Jesus for this Christmas.”

More than two years have passed since their private garden wedding, which was kept small owing to the COVID pandemic, and Cassidy is now expecting.

The couple later held a second, larger celebration in Nashville in November of 2021.

When asked at the time, Cassidy told, “The whole day was incredibly special.

But for the former childhood friends who fell in love, a year was nothing given that they had only known one another for a short period of time before falling in love.

“We first spoke when I was 10 and Ben was 13 years old. My family would always travel to the Florida Keys for the holidays where our mums had first met through a friend. My brother and I were the same age as their children. You and the children of your family friends don’t always get along, but we do “Cassidy at the time told PEOPLE.

Even though Cassidy claimed she and Wierda “were always great friends,” they did not become aware of their romantic connection until 2015.

“It happened quickly. Only seven months into our relationship—which, I know, sounds extremely short—but by that point, we had already done so much life together and had known one other for so long, “pregnant mother remarked. “It was kind of a given for us once we started dating. We were really immersed in it.”
