Gwendlyn Brown is being open about her relationship with her father. The daughter of Sister Wives actor Kody Brown and his ex-wife Christine Brown recently discussed the state of their bond following his 2021 divorce from her mother. She responded to a viewer who inquired about the impact of her parent’s divorce on her relationship with Kody in a YouTube video she uploaded on January 1.

“Yes. It’s very flip-floppy for me,” Gwendlyn shared. “‘Cause in-person, my dad’s sweet to me now. We had our differences in the past, but we’re getting better. And since we’re not around each other as much, we can’t really be angry with each other as much.”

The 21-year-old said that while negotiating a connection with the patriarch of the Brown family, she is keeping an open mind.

“But when I watch the episodes, I do tend to dislike him a little bit,” Gwendlyn continued. “And I just have to remind myself that he’s going through a difficult time and it’s just hard on everybody and, you know, he’s still my dad and he’s still kind to me.”

“He’s not actively reaching out to us,” Gwendlyn confessed during a December YouTube video. “I’ve had to reach out to him and see if he’s available. But he has been working on it, and I think he is getting better and, with time, he will get better.”

Along with their children Asypen (27), Mykelti (26), Paedon (24), Ysabel (19), and Truly (12), Kody and Christine have been married since 1994.

Christine is not the only wife who has recently ended her relationship with Kody. After nearly 30 years of marriage, Janelle Brown revealed her separation from Kody in a teaser for the Sister Wives: One-on-One program on December 12. Meri Brown also disclosed that she had split from her 32-year partner, leaving just Robyn Brown behind.

Gwendlyn spoke candidly about her connection with her dad’s surviving wife in December and wasn’t afraid to express her views about the 44-year-old.

“I do feel less about Robyn from watching [Sister Wives], but that’s not really fair from me because I don’t really like her as a person,” the TLC star said at the time while flashing the screen with a text that reads “stepmothers and all.” “Watching her [on Sister Wives] makes me like her less, for sure.”
