Jenny McCarthy has a brand-new bedroom to begin the New Year! The 50-year-old judge from The Masked Singer recently disclosed on Instagram that she completely renovated their St. Charles, Illinois house without telling her 53-year-old spouse.

She posted a video of the main bedroom renovation along with the caption, “Surprised the Mr. with a bedroom makeover.”

The owner of Formless Beauty demonstrated the room’s change in the sped-up movie. The room had previously had more conventional light grey paint, white trim, and an accent wall behind the bed covered in wallpaper with a marble design.

The newly renovated room now has shiny trim, rich, black walls, and a fluted headboard wall. A plush, upholstered platform bed and bright-white accents, such as a fluffy rug, a modern waterfall desk, and a pair of comfortable armchairs, balance off the somber colour.

The renovation is finished with three-dimensional metal wall art and sculptured stone lights on either side of the bed.

Jonathan Knight, a member of the New Kids on the Block and host of Farmhouse Fixer, gave the new design his approval.

“BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED!!! I love a dark room,” the singer and HGTV star commented. “So many people are afraid to commit to dark colors. 👏”

The renovation is the most recent enhancement the eight-year-married couple has made to their five-bedroom Tudor-style house outside of Chicago.

In a 2019 Hollywood at Home article, Wahlberg stated, “It’s the first house we looked at together.” “I remarked, “I have to get this house,” when I first saw Jenny’s face when we entered through the door. This is the house, so I just must.”

They worked together to develop a look with Chicago-based designer John Wolf of Wolf Home Design that matched their “music man-meets-glam fashion” ethos but was yet practical and cozy for their multiracial family.

Each area has a unique function and significance for the couple, from a contemporary kitchen with a butcher-block island and walk-in pantry to special devoted spaces for each star (a sewing room for McCarthy and what Wahlberg described as a Leave It to Beaver-style office for himself).

A large framed poster on the wall that reads, “Start each day with a glad heart,” caught Wahlberg’s attention as he gave a tour of the house and he paused to express his gratitude for the location.

“I stop here every morning and reflect on how thankful we are to have found each other and to live in this house with the people we love the most,” he said.
