Rob Lowe is speaking out about the flooding and strong rain that slammed Santa Barbara, California, and the damage that it caused to his community.

The 58-year-old actor of 9-1-1: Lone Star talked about how he and his neighbors were able to leave the area safely after the storms brought down a huge tree on their street.

“I’m lucky to be here tonight,” he told extra while at the Dog Gone premiere in Los Angeles. “We were trapped for a day and a half. Cut off, so there was a big tree down on my road and nobody could get in or out.”

Then he explained how he got away. “I just got a winch on my truck, so it was perfect. I got to break it in and it worked,” he told the outlet.

Lowe posted a video of a huge tree that had crashed into a road on TikTok.

We’ve got to try and pull this tree out of the road, he says on camera as the video shows him using his truck and a rope to grab hold of the tree. He is inside his vehicle at one time as it entirely removes the tree from the road.

As he sees the now-clear street, Lowe is heard stating, “Victory is ours.”

The National Weather Service stated that more than seven inches of rain fell in the Santa Barbara and Montecito, California, areas over the period of 12 hours on Monday, while Santa Barbara received five inches, according to KTLA.

The Santa Barbara Airport, the U.S. 101 motorway, and parts of Carpinteria, Summerland, and the City of Santa Barbara were closed as a result of the dangerous weather conditions and mudslides that were brought on by the heavy rainfall. On Tuesday afternoon, following hours of mud removal work by personnel, the Santa Barbara Airport and road were both reopened.

According to The Los Angeles Times, emergency personnel in the Santa Barbara County region received more than 200 calls for assistance on Monday, and numerous rescues of people from submerged cars were carried out.
