The entire original ensemble of Nickelodeon’s hit 2000s sitcom Zoey 101 will be back for the full-length Zoey 102 sequel film, which has already started filming, according to the network. While there is no specific date for release, the movie is scheduled to air on Paramount+ later this year.

One of the earliest of what would eventually grow into Nickelodeon’s empire of teen and kid’s series in the 2000s and 2010s, a group that also includes Victorious, Drake & Josh, and iCarly, is Zoey 101. The show followed Zoey Brooks (Jamie Lynn Spears), who was one of the first female students at the boarding school Pacific Coast Academy, which had previously exclusively accepted male students.

The movie will follow the recurring characters as they reunite for a wedding in the current day, including Spears, Erin Sanders, Sean Flynn, Matthew Underwood, Christopher Massey, Abby Wilde, and Jack Salvatore. The return of the entire original ensemble for a second movie is huge, especially for members of the generation that grew up with Zoey Brooks and her friends, even though other story details are scant.

“I’m beyond thrilled to be back alongside my PCA family and continue the story of Zoey and all the characters fans know and love,” said Spears of the film. “As an executive producer, it’s been an exciting opportunity to work with a such incredible talent as well as Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.”

Along with Alexis Fisher, Nancy Hower, Monica Sherer, and Madeline Whitby, who wrote the screenplay for the movie, Spears serves as executive producer. The series is now in production in North Carolina under the direction of Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan, and it should be available for streaming this year. The Nickelodeon original for Paramount+ isn’t the first time the network has brought back a vintage teen program for streaming; the network recently announced the renewal of its iCarly revival series for a third season and debuted Blue’s Big City Adventure, a prequel movie to the venerable children’s series Blue’s Clues.
