Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is finally becoming available as production picks up. Actor William H. Macy has joined the ensemble, which also includes Peter Macon, Freya Allan, and Owen Teague, according to a recent report by Deadline. It is not yet known what role Macy will play in the future movie.

The new installment in the franchise will be directed by Wes Ball of The Maze Runner movies, working from a screenplay by Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Patrick Aison. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will be a fresh installment in the franchise, despite the lack of storyline details. It is anticipated that the War for the Planet of the Apes will take place many years later. In October, principal photography commenced at Disney Studios Australia.

The Planet of the Apes franchise, which debuted in 1968, has spawned multiple reboots, remakes, TV shows, and computer games. The movies have received praise over the years for their breathtaking graphics, intricate plotlines, and visual effects that incorporate performance capture. The franchise explores how people interact with nature and its surroundings and is based on a 1963 science fiction book by French novelist Pierre Boulle.

He last appeared in The Dropout, an Emmy-winning limited series on Hulu.

Eka Darville, Kevin Durand, Travis Jeffery, Neil Sandilands, Sara Wiseman, Lydia Peckham, and Ras-Samuel Weld A’abzgi complete the cast of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The film’s producers are Jason Reed, Jaffa, Silver, and Joe Hartwick Jr.
