‘RHOP’ stars Robyn Dixon and Juan Dixon Remarry ‘Our Way’ in Private Ceremony
On Sunday’s episode of the Bravo series, Robyn Dixon and Juan Dixon exchanged vows in front of Real Housewives of Potomac viewers for the first time.
The romantic wedding of Robyn and Juan, which took place on August 24, 2022, at The Bayfront Club in Edgemere, Maryland, was shown in the last seconds of the season 7 finale. There were their boys Carter, 12, and Corey, 14.
They had intended to get married while on a trip to Jamaica in July, but they decided to get married instead.
“We had all our stuff — the boys’ suits, the rings, everything. We had it all in Jamaica. And we woke up that morning and we felt kind of like, ‘This doesn’t feel right,'” Robyn recalled. “Fortunately, we didn’t have a wedding plan with hundreds of people and change it at the last minute. So that’s the benefit of having a small wedding.”
Robyn resorted to her friend Suzanne, “whose family owns many wedding sites,” for assistance in pulling off the wedding of her dreams. Suzanne was able to “make it happen.”
The design and planning of the ceremony were handled by Natalie Melton, the lead planner of Event Design Group.
The Dixon boys and Robyn’s parents sat on two plush couches provided by Bethel Events Production while the couple read their vows and had their first kiss as husband and wife in front of an archway covered with a lavish display of purple, pink, and white roses.
Juan was followed by his eldest son as he made his way down the aisle, which was lined by tall candles from The Light Source Company. The younger of the two, Carter, accompanied his mother.
Each boy wore a bespoke cream shirt. They wore Brian Alexander Bespoke suits, white shirts, and brown shoes to match their father’s getup.
Robyn, on the other hand, made a statement with a white gown by designer Nicole Bakti with a high slit that she got from the Maryland store Deja Vu Boutique. She completed her ensemble with silver lace-up heels, coordinating jewellery, and a diamond floral headpiece that framed her bun-styled blonde hair.
She also designated her manicured, vivid blue nails as her “something blue.”
“I’m so happy we did not do it in Jamaica,” Robyn said on the episode, grateful her parents could be in attendance this time around. “This just feels so much better.”
“It’s really special getting married to someone I’ve been able to grow with because a lot of time people grow apart,” she added of her big day. “Having gone through the great times, the bad times, is what treats longevity and unconditional love. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The reality star walked hand-in-hand with Juan as they exited the episode and said, “The haters, you talk all the s—- you want but you’re wasting your time because I don’t care.”
Naturally, Robyn’s admission last week on her podcast Reasonably Shady that Juan had been inappropriately speaking with another woman before their wedding gave the naysayers plenty of fodder. She asserted, however, that Juan never cheated and that they resolved their differences prior to getting remarried.
Fans were disappointed not to see that on RHOP because Robyn decided not to bring her reality to the seventh season of the Bravo program. She said on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, “It was so in the back of my mind.” “We resolved it and moved past it. Why would I say, “Hey folks, select me, let’s talk about my issues?” is beyond me. We were filming at the time, so it wasn’t an issue. Given where we were at the time, it was irrelevant.”
Regarding her wedding, which CNN was the first to reveal, Robyn claimed she has “zero regrets” about not having her friend Gizelle Bryant or any of their fellow RHOP costars there? She said that she looks back on the day with nothing but delight.
“The highlight was definitely having our children there because obviously, they weren’t there the first time. But our children are the reason for everything and it was so sweet to have them there,” she said.
High school sweethearts Robyn and Juan originally got married in 2005 and then divorced in 2012.
For the benefit of their family, the couple infamously persisted in living together and even sleeping in the same bed. Their special bond was caught on camera for the inaugural season of RHOP, which debuted in January 2016.
“My kids, they didn’t even realize we were divorced,” Robyn recalled in a video for Bravo’s The Daily Dish. “They didn’t know we had gone through a rough time! They found out a lot of stuff about our relationship and our family from the show, because their friends are telling them. So then they come and tell us, ‘So why this? Why that?’ So I’d have to tell them, ‘We’re good, aren’t we? We’re good! Don’t worry about that.’ ”
“I would find my cast mates or the fans were more judgmental about my situation than us,” she added. “It’s like, we understood it! It’s not for everyone to understand, but it’s life for us.”
Over the years, the two gradually repaired their relationship. Robyn said during season 4 that they were “[doing it] like bunny rabbits” and that their relationship had turned a corner.
Being on reality TV and dealing with conflict, such as their well-publicized financial problems, also aided in the couple’s bonding.
“I will be honest, if Juan and I were not broke and honestly if we weren’t on the show, we probably would not be together today,” Robyn told news at BravoCon 2022 in October. “I say that because having to come together when you’re financially struggling and having to support one another for the sake of your kids, it was more so we wanted each other to get to a better place because we have children.”
