Zachary Levi is mourning the loss of his father, who passed away from thyroid cancer. Using Shazam! The 42-year-old Fury of the Gods actor says in this week’s news that the last time he grieved was when he lost his father in January of last year.

There were many tears shed since, in the end, “he was just a shell of a person,” claims Levi. Yet I’m happy that I can access the love.

In a message on Instagram on January 29, the actor delivered the heartbreaking news that his cherished “Papa D” had passed away, saying, “while he fought fiercely till the end, my father passed away peacefully a few days ago, surrounded by friends and family.”

He went on, “I can attest that one of the worst sensations is witnessing someone slowly die from cancer. Yet it brings me such pleasure and joy to know that he is no longer confined to his deteriorating body and is now singing karaoke in heaven. I have even more faith in humanity knowing how many of you were constantly sending him love, thoughts, and prayers. Know that our entire family, including him, felt and appreciated everything.”

“Thank you for your incredible kindness during such a trying time,” Levi said in closing. “Sending you all countless amounts of love and light in return.”

The Chuck alum had earlier that month informed his followers that his 76-year-old father was battling thyroid cancer and had then requested their prayers.

The actor continued, “Doctors may yet have a few tricks under their sleeves to buy him a little more time, but Papa D is not long for this world.

The celebrity responded to a question about his current needs by discussing his own view of mortality.

“Alex, I’m doing great, but thanks. Dying does not make me depressed or afraid, “He added in a subsequent tweet. “In reality, it’s a very potent aspect of existence. One that we will all achieve eventually. Where we can reconnect with God, the source, and are surrounded by the love that has the highest vibration.”

The Tangled voice actor expanded on his views on mortality and family on January 29.

“Give your loved ones a bear hug. Hold them close, “In the caption of his post, Levi wrote. “Discuss all you need to discuss. Release them to travel back to the beginning when the time is right. a return to paradise. A site that we are all incredibly fortunate to visit again. ❤️🙏”
