Earthquake of 3.7 magnitude shakes Northern Pakistan

Gilgit-Baltistan:  Mild earthquake tremors were felt across Gilgit, Skardu, Astore, and surrounding areas on 14 Sep 2025, prompting residents to evacuate homes in precautionary response.

The earthquake, measuring 3.7 on the Richter scale, was recorded at a depth of 25 kilometers, according to the National Seismological Center.

The epicenter of the quake was identified 34 kilometers southwest of Skardu. Although the tremors caused momentary panic, especially in residential areas, there were no immediate reports of casualties or significant structural damage.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, while emergency response teams remain on alert. Residents have been advised to stay cautious and follow safety guidelines in case of aftershocks.
