World Mental Health Day is being observed on Thursday to raise awareness about mental health issues and mobilize efforts in support of mental health.

The theme selected for this year’s Day is “Suicide prevention”.

World Health Organization says efforts will be made to raise awareness about the scale of suicide around the world and the role that each of us can play to help prevent it.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar says providing medical facilities and rehabilitation of people suffering from mental illnesses is among top priorities of government.

In his message on World Mental Health Day on Thursday, he said healthy life is directly associated with healthy brain.

On the World Mental Health Day, Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran released a charity video to talk about mental illness and to urge people to reach out and get help.

The video was shared on Instagram today on the official account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

They captioned the video, “It is World Mental Health Day! Both Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran want to ensure that not just today but every day, you look after yourself, your friends and those around you.”

The two then give out an important message asking people to look out for friends and family who might be suffering.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been very vocal about mental health and have also supported various charities who work towards the same.
