A vaccine now is viewed as the key to ending the global pandemic, and developing one first would be a huge geopolitical victory. However this can be a major breakthrough if proved, as Israel claims that it has developed vaccine to cure the novel coronavirus also known as COVID-19.

Naftali Bennett Minister of Defense of Israel claims and said he witnessed a “significant breakthrough” by Israel’s defense biological research institute in developing an antibody to COVID-19, as the researchers wrapped up the development phase and moved to patent and mass produce the potential treatment.

“I am proud of the institute staff for this terrific breakthrough,” said Bennett. “Their creativity and the Jewish mind brought about this amazing achievement.” Earlier the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu  pledged $60 million at an international donors conference raising funds for the joint fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Media reports said that about 100 research groups around the world pursuing vaccines, with nearly a dozen in early stages of human trials or poised to start.

In another report, National-security and global-health experts increasingly concerned that China could be the first to develop a vaccine for COVID-19 where the virus first emerged. As President Donald Trump adopts an increasingly hard-line stance toward Beijing, the US could be at a major disadvantage if China comes up with a vaccine first and decides to limit access.
