Heart diseases are still one of the ruthless killers in Pakistan. According to a report published earlier by the World Health Organization, at least 46 people dying of heart diseases in Pakistan every hour.

WHO figures and statistics revealed that the majority of Pakistanis do not participate in physical activity which is the leading cause of cardiac ailments and heart attacks in the world including Pakistan.

In the above-mentioned report, WHO found a whopping increase by 29 percent of total deaths due to heart diseases, which is around 406,870 per year.

However, in this spotlight, 5 top foods have been outlined, when consumed as part of a well-rounded diet, might help to keep your heart healthy.

Berries

Berries are rich in antioxidant polyphenols, which help to reduce cardiac disease risk.

They are a great source of fiber, folate, iron, calcium, vitamin A, and vitamin C, and they are low in fat.

Fish high in omega-3s

Without any doubt, the rich in proteins; Fish is a strong source of heart-helping omega-3 fatty acids.

People who have cardiac disease, or are at risk of developing it, are often recommended to increase their intake of omega-3s by eating fish.
