The nutrition of some foods can be affected by cooking, steaming, or stir-frying. Some nutritionists also believe that cooking destroys vitamin B & C of foods. So, a list of six foods that are advised to be consumed raw.

1. Broccoli

The leafy green vegetable broccoli is loaded with vitamin C and calcium. It also contains a substance called sulforaphane. The compound is best known for reducing blood pressure and boosting heart health. Boiling broccoli has been shown to lower the amount of sulforaphane by up to 70 percent.

Coconut is the best source for providing high water content and good fats to the body. However, the same benefits on health won’t be gained if the coconut is dry or desiccate.

3. Apples

Apples tend to lose a significant portion of nutrition and minerals if dehydrated. And if cooked apple increases sugar levels making the body gain more calories and carbohydrates. So, it is suggested that apples are best if only consumed raw.

4. Peppers

Bell peppers contain significantly high levels of vitamin C. But cooking bell peppers above 375 degrees destroys all its nutritional value

5. Fresh Berries

Berries are better only if eaten fresh. As the dehydration process causes the berries to dry and lose their water-soluble minerals and vitamins.

6. Guavas

The tropical fruit Guava is often cooked and used in the curry of cuisines. While it tastes good, the water-soluble components contained in the fruit can be killed by heat.
