Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti has said that giving priority to India over Pakistan was a mistake.

Rejecting two nation theory and accession with India was a mistake, she added.

Mehbooba Mufti also said that India is trying to turn Kashmir into Gaza strip. India is reacting to Kashmir like Israel does with Palestine.

On the other hand, Hurriyat leader Omar Abdullah has said that he will challenge Indian act of revoking special status of Kashmir in court.

Earlier, Curfew like restrictions has been imposed across the Indian Occupied Kashmir.

With tourists being evacuated, the senior leaders have been placed under house arrest.

Former Chief Minister of occupied Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti, Hurriyat leader Omar Abdullah and Sameer Sajjad lone placed under house detention.

Mobile phone and internet service has also been suspended.

Omar Abdullah stated in his tweet that:

I believe I’m being placed under house arrest from midnight tonight & the process has already started for other mainstream leaders. No way of knowing if this is true but if it is then I’ll see all of you on the other side of whatever is in store. Allah save us 🙏🏼

Former Chief Minister-occupied Kashmir tweeted:

Today marks the darkest day in Indian democracy. Decision of J&K leadership to reject 2 nation theory in 1947 & align with India has backfired. Unilateral decision of GOI to scrap Article 370 is illegal & unconstitutional which will make India an occupational force in J&K.

It is pertinent to mention that tensions have increased in occupied Kashmir after India deployed numerous personnel in Indian occupied Kashmir.

The Modi government has decided to split the occupied valley into 2 parts by separating Indian occupied Kashmir from Ladakh.

Ladakh will be declared as Federal Administered Territory and will also have a Legislative Assembly.

The Kashmir conflict is a territorial conflict primarily between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir region.

The conflict started after the partition of India in 1947 as a dispute over the former princely state of Jammu and Kashmir and escalated into three wars between India and Pakistan and several other armed skirmishes.

China has also been involved in the conflict in a third-party role.
