12 killed, Several wounded in explosion in Iraq’s Karbala

12 people have been killed including women and children and several others have been wounded in a blast from a bomb planted on a bus in Karbala, the city of Iraq.

According to an International News Agency, an explosive device planted on the bus detonated as the bus was passing through an Iraqi army checkpoint between Karbala and the town of al-Hilla at a northern entrance to the city.

Wounded have been shifted to the Hospital, where they are being provided with best medical aid.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.

The attack is one of the deadliest to target civilians since the defeat of Islamic State was declared in 2017

Earlier this month, At least 31 people were killed and more than 100 wounded in a stampede in Karabala, the city of Iraq, as Shia Muslim worshipers commemorated Ashura.

According to details, The stampede reportedly killed 31, whereas, left several injured.

The incident took place after the march of the procession collapsed at a certain point, causing mayhem, according to Iraqi Government.

70 were reportedly wounded in the tragic incident which took place during commemorations for the Shia holy day of Ashura in the Iraqi city of Karbala, officials say.

Foreign Office stated that, no casualty of any Pakistani has been reported and Pakistan Foreign Office’s camp in Karbala is closely monitoring the situation.

Representative of Pakistan Foreign Office’s camp in Karbala stated that Pakistan condemns the tragic incident and offers prayers to those who are wounded.
