Bomb attack on Turkish police bus leaves 5 injured

A police bus has been targeted with a bomb blast in Turkey, leaving five slightly injured.

According to the reports of British media, the incident took place at Yuregir District of Adana province.

One of those hurt was a police officer, and four of the locals, who were moved to the hospital by the rescue teams.

The injured are in a really good condition, hospital officials told the media.

The Adana governor’s office said in a statement that an investigation had been launched into the blast and the area has been sealed.

Turkish TV stations broadcast video of a badly damaged bus surrounded by debris and other damaged vehicles under a pedestrian overpass in Adana’s Yuregir district, near Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.

Armed police sealed off the area and are examining the scene.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. However, In 2015 and 2016, the country was hit by a series of attacks in 2015 and 2016 which killed hundreds of people.

Extremist groups claimed the responsibility of all carried out bomb attacks in Turkey in the past years.
